October Manda Reunion.

Wow, it has been a long time since I've update you all on anything that has been going on in our lives and since I just joined facebook I thought I might try to catch up here before I start there. Not sure I get facebook anyways...seems like just another place to post photo's and email friends. I like blogging because I can write about the pictures and keep family and friends up-to-date on what is going on in our lives. Seems more personal to me. Oh well, I'll try ot do both for now and see what happens.

I think the last thing I posted was about those dreadful LICE. Needless to say we are rid of those things and taking every precaution to never get them again. But with my luck all of my good intentions will go to waiste.

Anyways, a lot has happend since then and I will try to update you little by little as not to bore you too much. I'll start with the end of October and work my way to the present date. Every year we are lucky enough to get two or more family reunions, once with my family and once with Kurt's. Since I missed posting about mine in July I'll start with the Manda reunion in Bakersfield...woo hoo, we are happening people or so you'd think. Bakersfield is actually the perfect place for all of us to meet. One of Kurt's Uncles, Jerry, has this beautiful parcel of land that has plenty for all of us to do. Most of us get hotel rooms and then meet at Jerry's for breakfast, lunch and dinner. All of our meals are either brought in or prepared for us right there by family members. Most of the cooking is done by Grandma Aren (Kurt's stepmom) and some of the cousins. I have to admit that I have never raised a finger to help with any of the meals...selfish yes, but fabulous none-the-less.

Let me tell you all a little bit about this place we spend all of our time at during our family weekend. It's huge. There is this huge grass area for the kids to run around on, jump on a trampoline, play on plastic horses, ride golf carts, and do just about anything they want. There is an office with a big screen TV, and then there is the barn. This barn is full of cowboy memorabilia, saw dust, tables, a huge kitchen with plenty of refigerators, a mini movie theater, a pool table and even some slot machines. Let me just say that we are all well take care of and Uncle Jerry takes care of it all...food, drinks, and even some golf for a few of the boys. We love it. Thank you Uncle Jerry for spoiling us all!

This trip we were lucky enough to be joined by my Mom and Jim, and Jim being Jim made a huge impression...I won't go into the details but at least he is being invited back next year. Also, we were lucky enough to have a trombone on site, Mark is taking a music class and just so happened to have it with him, so low and behold Kurt got up and tried it out and even managed to hit a note or two. And ofcourse Skye and Ryan had to show up Dad and suprised us all by actually making some noise. Who knows, maybe one day they'll be walking in the Rose Parade like their Daddy.

To end our weekend a group of us always so to the local Pumpkin Patch and pick out our pumpkins, run around this beautiful area and even go through this corn field maze. The kids have so much fun and I must admit I wouldn't miss it. So much fun. Can't wait to do it all over again next year. TaTa (or however you spell it) for now.
